“I’ve long been a lover of cartoon and fake wood grain. Perhaps it was the background artwork in the countless cartoons watched as a kid that got stored in my brain, ready to use in my artwork years later. I wanted to bring this wood pattern to the mini Gerald and imagined him as a rich hardwood pedigree canine that I named Woodrow, for obvious reasons.”
