Paper dog model in a 3D sculpture form. Decorated with child like images of faces of storybook characters such as witches, soldiers, cowboys and Indians and Egyptian queens. Designed by childrens illustrator Jamie Malone as part of an exhibition by design studio Lazerian. The dog is a mascot of Lazerian who also set up the project for other designers and artists to showcase their own signature styles onto the paper sculptures.

“My design for Gerald is a composition of distinctive, carefully constructed characters throughout the ages, some of which are informed by my own travels and readings on worldly matters. Each illustration is characterised by my approach to design, which is always underlaid with simplicity, charm and a sense of fun. As a children’s illustrator, I ensure that all of my work is friendly and accessible to all. Essentially I wanted to create a meaningful pattern to complement the Gerald design without taking away from its form, hence the minimalistic approach to the patterning.”
