“My design for Gerald was born out of a love for intricate patterns and impossible shapes. I’ve always been fascinated by structures within art, especially those that don’t quite make work. I love the form and construction of Gerald the Dog and wanted to confuse, taunt and play with the eye by wrapping the form in an intense, nonsensical, perhaps musical coat of black-line drawings.”
